Oil and Gas Service

Each year, the Oil and Gas Chaplaincy holds its Annual Service of Remembrance to honour those who have lost their lives while working offshore. Based in Aberdeen, the Chaplaincy offers pastoral care and support to all those connected with the industry, regardless of faith or none.

During the service, names are added to the Book of Remembrance, ensuring those who died are never forgotten and offering comfort to their families and loved ones.

The service will take place at the historic Kirk of St Nicholas, home to the Oil Chapel. Candles will be lit in remembrance, and the updated Book of Remembrance will be dedicated.

Families, friends, dignitaries and industry representatives will be in attendance. The service is open to all and takes place on 2 November at 11am, with tea and coffee served in the Oil Chapel afterwards.
