Kincorth Waits join forces with Holburn Brass for a magical Christmas concert in the spectacular Kirk of St Nicholas.
Kincorth Waits are a much‑loved early music ensemble with a strong following in the city, performing on authentic replica medieval and Renaissance instruments – flutes, recorders, sackbuts, curtals, crumhorns and more. Their programme blends music connected to St Nicholas, including works by Sir John Black (Meister of St Nicholas in 1438), with popular secular pieces of the period, all brought to life with rich vocals and infectious festive spirit.
This is a joyful, high‑quality Christmas concert that audiences love – warm, atmospheric and guaranteed to fill seats. When the group reunited last year for a concert at the Seven Incorporated Trades, it sold out.
Looking ahead, Kincorth Waits plan to make new recordings and place their work in international digital archives for film and television. A leading London‑based producer and composer has described their sound as “unlike anything currently in the libraries” – a testament to how distinctive and special this music really is.
