The sanctuary is the central gathering space within the Kirk and an important focal point for community, cultural and event based activities. To support the long term use of the building, a series of refurbishment works are proposed to improve the comfort, functionality and overall appearance of the space while preserving its historic character.

The proposed works include redecoration, flooring upgrades and improvements to lighting throughout the sanctuary as well as area of repair where there is water ingress and timber deterioration.

Provision will also be made for modern IT and audio visual facilities to support performances, exhibitions, presentations and community events. Together, these improvements will enhance the usability, accessibility and flexibility of the sanctuary, ensuring it can continue to serve the wider community.
